Based on a newly developed wave-packet theory, partial and total electronic stopping cross sections of target elements in atoms and solids with atomic numbers ranging from Z = 2 (He) to Z = 92 (U) are tabulated shell by shell for protons with velocities ranging from v = 0.2v0 to v = 20v0 (v0 = αc = 2.19 × 108 cm/s). Atomic values are given for all elements of the Z range. Solid-phase values, calculated for elements in which the outermost electrons can be considered as a free electron gas, are given for most elements up to Z = 57 and for Z = 74, 79, and 82.
