This paper examines the efficiency of galaxy formation and clustering using simple nonlinear models. Under a wide range of conditions, most gravitating objects will become bound to clusters. Few will remain isolated in the general field. The efficiency of clustering becomes especially high if the objects are distributed with the correlation presently observed for galaxies. These results predict that few pregalactic structures should now exist between the galaxies.
