The data measured and collected by Arigo et al. (1978) for a large sample of binary galaxies were refined to restore the distinction between spiral and S0 galaxies. The data show a very strong tendency for galaxies to prefer partners of the same class (E, S, S0), and only a weak tendency for spirals and S0's to favor each other as partners. These results support the discontinuity between elliptical and S0 galaxies emphasized by Bertola and Capaccioli (1978), but suggest that the continuity between S and S0 types is not so strong as was implied by these authors.
