Scientific paper

The paper reports results of computer simulations of interactions of energetic hadrons in the Brazil-Japan emulsion chamber at Mt. Chacaltaya. This experiment provides the most direct information that currently exists on strong interactions up to about 100 TeV lab energy. Most features of the data are found to agree well with the straightforward extrapolation of accelerator data at lab energies not greater than 2 TeV using Feynman scaling. The detector is rather insensitive, however, to the energy dependence of inclusive cross sections.
