We propose to observe the western limb of the Cygnus Loop to estimate the metal abundances of the ISM. The emission from the Cygnus Loop's limb region is of ISM origin. However many previous studies report that the observed abundance (0.1 solar) is lower than that of the surrounding medium (0.5 solar). Although such abundance depletion is extensively seen, the cause is still unclear. We consider a promising possibility, the underestimation of the bremsstrahlung continuum due to a nitrogen enhanced medium. To verify our hypothesis, we need to estimate the nitrogen abundance at the limb much better than before. 20 ksec RGS observation will detect the emission lines from light elements such as carbon and nitrogen with an accuracy of 10% or better.
