Scientific paper

Two neutrino-emission processes pertinent to the neutral pioncondensed
phase, the URCA and the bremsstrahlung processes, areinvestigeted in the
chiral symmetry approach. It is shown that theyare prominent only near
the threshold and unlikely to play animportant role in the cooling
problem of neutron stars.
