Scientific paper

Venera 15 and 16 radio-occultation measurements of the Venus atmosphere in 16 areas of the near-polar region are examined. Height dependences of temperature, pressure, and density at heights of 40-90 km in the 63-79 deg latitude zone at solar zenith angles of 76-108 deg are presented. A comparison is made of atmospheric parameters in the northern and southern near-polar regions.
