The geostationary version of the differential phase method is employed to study the dynamics of the plasmapause, the plasmasphere plasma trails, the plasma sheet, and the magnetosheath boundaries of the geomagnetosphere. The study involves transformation of a signal transmitted from a geostationary satellite and received by a response station on earth; the transformation permits the sign of the frequency shift and of the phase lag to be changed. Midlatitude plasmapause dynamics, the ionosphere trough, polar cusp boundaries and polar cap inhomogeneities may be investigated.
