Calculations are performed to show how the large-scale anisotropy of the cosmic background can be affected by the aberration of radiation rays that occurs during the free propagation of photons in an anisotropically expanding universe. This effect is considerable in the late Milne epoch of type V and type VII Bianchi spaces. The predicted anisotropy produced by the aberration of rays is such that one can conclude from the present isotropy of up to one part in one thousand that the universe is in its quasi-isotropic stage or it entered the Milne epoch only recently.
