Scattering: Radiative Transfer
Scientific paper
The solutions to the light scattering problem by the method of the separation of variables for the homogeneous and core-mantle spheroids are discussed. It is shown that the solution obtained by Farafonov is the most efficient, especially for very elongated or flattened particles. Some results illustrating the dependence of the efficiency factors on the particle size, shape, orientation, absorptive properties and structure are presented.
