Optical observations of planetary nebula, NGC 3132, have revealed the presence of a faint companion to A star HD 87892. The companion star is now thought to be the exciting star of the planetary nebula. This assumption is based primarily on V magnitudes of the comparison sequence in a nearby open cluster, NGC 3228. A choice of scenarios examining the possibilities for physical connection between HD 87892 and its companion are presented.
