Multicolor photometry of galaxies seen behind the Magellanic Clouds is an unexploited method of further examining the total reddening and absorption in them. The method is limited by the intrinsic spread in galaxy colors, but enough galaxies are available for photometry that the gross characteristics of the absorbing layer should be detectable. A list of relatively bright galaxies recognized behind the Large Cloud is assembled in Table 1. UBV photometry of one of the brightest of these background is galaxies, NGC 2150, measured at Cerro Tololo, provides an example.
