Ion outflow behavior has been analyzed based on statistical studies using low Earth satellites such as the NASA FAST mission the. The number flux and the characteristic energy of the ion are changing with altitude, local time, and magnetosphere activity level. In the presentation we will discuss these implications of this when mapping the ions into the magnetosphere. An estimation of how much error can be expected when the ion outflow is based on geographic coordinates compare to dynamical coordinates is presented.
