Electric field fluctuations with periods between 150 and 600 sec in the dayside magnetosphere were been observed nearly continuously during the lifetime of the electron beam experiment onboard GEOS-2. For the majority of the pulsations polarization characteristics, orientation of the wave ellipses, and wave Poynting vectors are consistent with solar wind driven surface waves on the outer boundaries of the magnetosphere as energy sources of the oscillations.
