The paper outlines the most significant advances made in solar wind transport in the last five years and provides a complete listing of relevant literature for this interval. Six major areas of solar wind plasma research are examined, including: (1) the large scale interplanetary magnetic fluctuation spectrum, (2) the mutual interactions between, and resultant nonlinear equilibria, of solar wind wave-ion distributions, (3) the generation of Debye wavelength electrostatic fluctuations, (4) the physics of type III interplanetary radiobursts, (5) electron heat flux regulation mechanisms, and (6) the microscopic structure of thin interplanetary current sheets.
