Solutions to some apparent paradoxes in the special theory of relativity are given. In particular it is shown that a static electric field Ey can produce a force Fx on a moving current element. The solutions are based on the cardinal equations of dynamics of special relativity. A general treatment of such equations is also given from both the microscopic and the macroscopic points of view.
