Certain concepts of the theory of particle acceleration in plasmas are extended to conditions in the interplanetary shock layers of streams from solar flares. An expression for particle-energy changes caused by resonance interaction with turbulent fluctuations is derived. Some conclusive evidence for the presence of accelerations in the interplanetary medium is presented.
