ULF waves are one of the prominent dynamical features of the terrestrial magnetosphere. Generated by external and internal plasma instabilities as well as wave activity in the solar wind and magnetosheath they represent an attractive object of scientific analysis using CLUSTER magnetic field observations. Having available four closely spaced spacecraft enables us to study in detail their spatial and temporal characteristics in an as yet unprecedented accuracy. We shall present examples of ULF waves resembling field line resonances and surface waves as well as propagating and standing wave structures. Emphasize is especially paid on propagation properties and spatial extent of the wave fields.
