Optical, radio and gamma-ray telescopes and infrared detectors - including instruments devised by the authors - show that the center of the Galaxy contains antimatter, intense radiation, turbulent clouds of hot gas and dust and an unseen something with a tremendous gravitational pull. The weight of the evidence indicates that a massive black hole sits at the heart of the Milky Way.
