The behavior of nuclear matter is examined taking into account six-quarks (Kondratiuk et al., 1987), and the results are used to determine the parameters of neutron stars and the processes of their collapse. It is shown that the maximal masses and the radii of neutron stars decrease with time and that ultradense objects with very small masses can exist. A new mechanism is proposed which can explain type I supernova explosions. It is shown that, in the process of star collapse, there is a stage of instability that leads to an explosive emission of energy.
