A consistent post-Newtonian theoretical framework for multipurposes studies of various hierarchical systems of celestial bodies is developed on the basis of advanced matched multipole expansion methods of the General Relativity Theory (GRT). Within this framework the post-Newtonian equations of motion of an artificial Earth satellite (AES) are derived in the local geocentric harmonic reference system (JRS), which provides a relativistic generalization of the classical Jacoby coordinates for the three body system (the Sun, the Earth and the Moon). It is shown that the metric in JRS retains the advantages of the classical disturbing function in the Jacoby coordinates and leads to rather simple and convenient equations of motion. The latter are presented both in Lagrange and coordinate form.
