The unique orbit of Ulysses allows, for the first time, an investigation of magnetic clouds away from the ecliptic plane at solar maximum. We have perfomed a survey of magnetic clouds observed by Ulysses from mid 1996 to 2001, identifiying >20 canditates. During this time period, Ulysses traveled from 25° N, down over the southern solar pole at 80° S and through the fast latitude scan back up to 80° N. Covering a range from 5.4 to 1.4 AU. During this time Solar activity was rising, reaching maximum in mid 2000. We have fitted a constant alpha force free flux rope model to the cadidate events in order to determine the properties of these magnetic clouds. We are thus able to aquire information about the size, shape, chirality and orientation of the magnetic clouds. We discuss how these properties vary with heliographic laitude, and whether there are any significant differences between magnetic clouds observed at high latitudes and those previously observed near the ecliptic plane.
