Results are reported for 6-cm radio observations of the compact X-ray source GX 17+2 (3U 1813-14) with six antennas of a very large array (VLA). These observations firmly support the association of a very variable radio source with GX 17+2. The VLA data for two days are combined into a single map, revealing the existence of a single point-source image lying within a 90% confidence region. A 17.5-magnitude G dwarf, previously designated as star 28, is found to be the only star in this region down to a limit of 20 magnitudes. It is concluded that there are three possible explanations: (1) star 28 is responsible for both the X-ray and the radio emission; (2) an unseen binary companion of star 28 exists, and this 'system' is responsible for the radio and X-ray emission; or (3) an unseen star system fainter than an R magnitude of approximately 20 and separated from star 28 exists inside a region of about 2 by 5 arcsec and is responsible for the X-ray and radio emission.
