Electromagnetic induction in several two-dimensional models of a two-layered conductor with a nonhorizontal contact between the layers is investigated. The effect on the configuration of the perturbed induced currents due to vertical discontinuities of sub-surface structures by nearby anomalies is studied. In the E-polarization case, the field configuration is altered by the introduction of further anomalies, and the anomalies in the surface values of the components are shifted relative to the subsurface inhomogeneities. For the models studied, the field distributions and surface values of the components show very little dependence on adjacent structures.
