The motion of stars in the vicinity of the sun are studied on the basis of radial velocities and proper motions, to find the local stellar velocity field, verify values for Oort's constants A and B, and detect regularities of galactic rotation. Data on 124 stars (OB and supergiants) at distances greater than 300 pc, and on 323 stars in the range from 100 pc to 300 pc, showed no significant rotation of a flattened stellar cloud in the sun's environs, and confirmed A and B values favored by the author. A subgroup of O-G supergiants and O-B2 stars in the latter group show discrepancies with the overall velocity field and galactic rotation, as well as disparate A and B values. Hence the expansion term K in the radial velocities is due to divergent motions of stellar subgroups, rather than to expansion of a local stellar cloud. Data on a thousand stars in the sun's immediate vicinity (closer than 20 pc) are also studied.
