The distribution of craters photographed by Mariner-10 on the surface of Mercury is analyzed. More than 960 craters with diameters from 25 to 500 km are considered. It is found that the distribution of craters up to 63 km in diameter closely corresponds to the analogous curve for the 'saturated' distribution of craters on the Moon. The slope of the function describing the distribution of craters with diameters over 63 km corresponds to that of the expression describing the 'unsaturated' distribution of craters in the Lunar seas, corresponding to a sea 4.1 billion years old under lunar conditions. The results indicate that the Mercurian craters are impact craters, and support the theory that a single meteorite belt existed within the limits of the solar system, extending at least between the orbits of Mercury and Mars.
