It is shown that for a large class of SU(5) SUSY GUTs, (i) the Debye
free energy of the plasma is 2-3 times larger than the free energy of
the SUSY SU(5) ideal gas; (ii) the mean free path of an SU gluon in the
plasma is about 1/3 of the average interquantum spacing of the ideal
gas. Possible implications for inflationary scenarios are discussed.
