A previously begun analytical study of maser synchrotron instability (MSI) is continued. The theory of MSI is addressed; simple analytical expressions for the complete dispersion relation are given that provide a physical description of MSI. It is shown that supraluminous X mode waves can resonate with relatively low energy electrons provided that the cold plasma parameter is much smaller than unity. The proper frame of reference for studying the resonant coupling between the X mode and nonthermal electrons moves at a certain parallel velocity. Resonance curves are then circles centered on this value and electrons diffuse with almost constant parallel velocities. The difference between MSI and the standard cyclotron theory is stressed. A parametric study of the X mode generation is made, including the roles of the propagation angle and the bulk velocity, and the transition from a kinetic to a 'ring-like' regime.
