We propose ATCA monitoring of the type IIn SN1996cr to constrain its late-time evolution. Initially undetected at radio and X-ray wavelengths, SN1996cr rapidly turned on ~2 yrs after the explosion (similar to SN1987A) and had remained roughly constant for >7 yrs before showing a slow decline over the last ~2 yrs. This evolution implies that SN1996cr exploded into a wind-blown bubble formed by the progenitor, where the blast-wave appears to be emerging from a dense shell of wind-swept material it had long been propagating through. The proposed radio follow-up for SN1996cr will continue to set constraints on the thickness and density of the wind-swept shell, place limits on inhomogeneities within the shell itself, and augment our ongoing VLBI and X-ray programs.
