Gravitational Constant:Variations
Scientific paper
An experiment is proposed in which the length of a laser cavity depends on the force of gravity. A change in the gravitational constant will cause a change in the frequency of the laser, which may be measured relative to a reference laser. If an iodine stabilized He-Ne laser is used as the referenceG/G can be measured to an accuracy of 4×10-12 yr-1.
