The differences that appear between the ratios of the numbers of red to blue supergiants in the inner and outer regions of nine young populous clusters in the LMC are analyzed. The ratio of the numbers of red to blue supergiants is higher in the corona than in the central part. This is seen as suggesting delayed star formation in the central region of these clusters. In analyzing the results, attention is given to the problem of contamination by galactic foreground and LMC foreground and background stars. Two kinds of contamination, red and gray, are distinguished.
