In order to study the velocity field existing in planetary nebulas, a spectroscopic survey was carried out on the forbidden O III emissions of twenty-six such nebulas. The results confirm that the expansion velocity is an increasing function of the radius of the nebula for radii less than 0.2 pc. The expansion velocity versus radius is plotted for the nebulas, and theoretical predictions can interpret the trend, at least qualitatively.
