Preliminary results on the problem of creating a large multipurpose solar telescope are presented. A large photospheric-chromospheric telescope must have a resolution of 0.5-0.25 arcsec (potentially reaching 0.1 arcsec), a tracking power of at least 1 arcsec, and a small instrumental polarization (0.001-0.00001). A 2-m telescope is proposed which is pointed toward the sun and operates with an open short path of large-aperture rays according to a three-mirror Cassegrain-Gregory scheme. Image stability is achieved by using the coelostat system at the exit after the elliptical mirror.
