At its meeting in Padua on November 4, 1986, the Inter-Agency Consultative Group (IACG) for Space Science decided to adopt solar-terrestrial science as its next project. In this domain, the IACG is coordinating 13 different projects originating from its four member agencies, involving 20 spacecraft. The projects include Exos-D (ISAS), Ulysses, Interball, CRRES, Relict-2, Solar-A, UARS, Geotail, Wind, Polar, SOHO, Cluster, and IKI 1 and 2.
