The statistical properties of the most relevant basic and derived plasma parameters have been studied, using hourly averages supplied by the plasma and magnetic field experiments on board the satellite Heos 1. Average values, medians, and standard deviations are given for all the considered quantities. Comparison with previous results, obtained from the satellites Vela 3/Imp 3 in 1965-1967, confirms the general trend of several relationships among basic and derived parameters. The magnetic energy density is on the average 3 times larger than the proton thermal energy density. When allowance is made for the electron contribution, the internal energy appears to be equipartitioned between plasma and magnetic field. High proton densities seem to be related to magnetic fields with a substantial component normal to the ecliptic plane.
