The role of magnetic fields during high-mass star-formation is still a matter of fierce debate. Most current polarization measurements at the highest densities come from maser observations, in particular the OH and water masers. However, methanol masers are the most common in high-mass star-forming regions, and polarization observations of the 6.7GHz and 12.2GHz methanol masers are still rare. However, recent Effelsberg observation detected for the first time the 6.7GHz methanol maser Zeeman splitting of a number of Northern massive star-forming regions (>75% detection rate). Here we propose the expand the sample of sources to the Southern sky using the Parkes telescope. The observations of the methanol Zeeman splitting have the potential to both make a significant contribution to determining the role of magnetic fields during high-mass star-formation, and to improve the understanding of the exact environments and evolutionary stages that are traced by the methanol maser emission.
