Results are presented of spectral and photometric observations of a T Tauri type star, GW Ori, a spectroscopic binary with orbital an period of P = 242d. The preliminary light curve of the system is plotted. Variations of the equivalent widths of the spectral lines and the light curve of the system indicate a photometric minimum near the phase 0.5 P with a depth of 0.4 m. We find that the spectral type of the star varies from F2 to G5; the absolute magnitude is +4.0 m. It is shown that the intrinsic visual extinction in the shell must be about 3 m, which is larger than the observed value of 0.82 m.
