High-energy gamma-ray astronomy is a field under very rapid development,
addressing issues of astrophysics, of astroparticle physics and of
fundamental physics. This contribution summarizes recent results,
concentrating mainly on data from ground-based instruments both on
Galactic and extragalactic sources.
