Observational cosmology is currently experiencing a revolution. The measurements of magnitude vs redshift of very distant type Ia supernovae indicate that the expansion rate of the universe is increasing. This acceleration requires the existence of a Dark Energy that overcomes the gravitational self-attraction of matter, such as the vacuum energy density associated with the cosmological constant (Λ). The prospects for improving our knowledge of the two most fundamental missing pieces of cosmology, the Dark Matter and Dark Energy, are discussed.
