We present our recent progress in the development of two novel coronagraphs: an eight-octant phase-mask (8OPM) coronagraph and a tandem common-path achromatic interfero-coronagraph (TCP-AIC). These methods have 4th-order responses to tip-tilt errors, and can realize deep stellar suppressions for partially resolved stars. We report principles, numerical simulations and laboratory demonstrations of the proposed methods.
