Multiple lines of evidence suggest that planet formation is proceeding in the disk around the several Myr old Herbig Be star HD100546. The relative proximity of this star at 100 pc allows spatial resolution with ATCA down to the tens of AU scale. Our previous ATCA observations have indeed shown structure on such size scales, including an inner disk clearing and brightness asymmetry between the two sides of the disk, whilst on larger scales the emission structure is 'boxy', almost rectangular, with the long axis orthogonal to the disk major axis. It appears to trace dust either entrained in an outflow or levitated above the disk surface by photophoresis. We propose here much more detailed imaging at 7 mm to further elucidate the connection between the disk and dusty outflow, and the relation between the disk gap and a posssible orbiting body. In so doing we will obtain quantitative information on the physics behind planet formation, and perhaps a snapshot of a phase through which our own solar system passed.
