Scientific paper

The cataclysmic variable EG Aqr is in outburst as of 2006 November 08.48 UT at visual magnitude 12.4 (observed by Rod Stubbings, Tetoora Road, Victoria, Australia). This outburst is only the third observed. CCD observations by numerous observers show the presence of superhumps, indicating EG Aqr is an SU UMa-type dwarf nova. Analysis of data is underway to determine superhump behavior and refine classification. Data reported to the AAVSO may be found at www.aavso.org.
