Stark widths of six doubly ionized sulfur (S III) spectral lines in the 3d-4p transition have been measured in a SF6 plasma created in the linear, low pressure, pulsed arc discharge at about 35000K electron temperature and about 2.8×1023 m-3 electron density. Mentioned widths (and corresponding shifts) have been calculated using the semiclassical perturbation formalism, (taking into account the configuration interaction), modified semiempirical approximation, simplified semiclassical theory and its modification. Calculations have been performed for electron temperatures between 10000K and 150000K.
