The presence of 3He at the surface of the sun implies a set of constraints both for the efficiency of turbulent diffusion in the sun and for the primeval abundance of deuterium in the sun. The abundance of 3He at the surface of the sun, (3He/4He) is of the order of 5×10-4 and probably between 4×10-4 and 8×10-8.
