THE tetrasporangium of Furcellaria fastigiata (L.) Lamour. remains
uninucleate for five months or more before the tetraspores are formed.
The meiotic divisions then take place rapidly throughout the numerous
sporangia and have been observed at Aberystwyth between November 9 and
15.
