A data model for paleomagnetic investigations is described. The model is a combination of hierarchic and relational approaches. The hierarchy of the data is connected by the integration of the data is geographical units (maps). The relational approach is determined by the presentation of the data and their relationships in the form of connected tables. The rows of the main table, which store data of a basic entity `site', are ordered chronologically. With this data organization, the evolution of the paleomagnetic field can be spatially and temporally described.
