The visual spectra of eight of the physically related members of the Koronis family of asteroids that includes the Galileo mission flyby target 243 Ida. The observed spectral diversity of these S-class asteroids corresponds to +/- 5 percent color variations relative to Ida's mean color. The conditions under which such variations may be imaged on Ida are discussed.
