HST observations of Saturn's haze distributions show a latitudinal distribution of tropospheric haze that contrasts with that of stratospheric haze, due to the marked increase in tropospheric optical depths from the north pole to the equator. Variations in the visible-range latitudinal albedo and color, which define the Saturn belt and zone structure, are explainable in terms of tropospheric aerosol size variations.
