The angular diameter-redshift relationship of a group of E galaxies with redshift in the range 0.004-0.085 was investigated on the basis of data obtained from measurement of 48-in. Schmidt plates (Sandage, 1975). No anisotropy was noted. It is suggested that if the anisotropy reported in the HM values of ScI galaxies and compact galaxies with absorption spectra is cosmological, it might be masked in the angular diameter-redshift relationship by the intrinsic dispersion in the linear dimensions of E galaxies.
