Pioneer-Venus data are used to calculate the 'loading' of the solar wind by hot oxygen ions produced during the photoionization of the oxygen corona of Venus. The effect of this loading on the plasma flow parameters in the region beyond the shock front is examined, and the stability of the ionopause is analyzed with allowance for the flow axial symmetry. It is shown that the loading of the solar wind increases the distance between the shock front and the ionopause, and decreases the maximum value of the magnetic field in the magnetic barrier near the frontal point.
